everything is just so much more exciting with a baby in the house

For example: today is the first snow of the "season." I refrain from writing "winter" there because winter is almost a full TWO months away, but let's not dwell on that.

Joey went tearing into Emma's room to greet her this morning. I heard his sing-songy voice crooning, "Happy First Snow to You" to her smiling, little awake self!

Then the girls brought out all manner of coats and mittens and scarves and boots and deposited them in the middle of the kitchen floor, where Gracie proceeded to agonize over the perfect winter accessories for Emma...selecting just the right gloves and hat for her first snow excursion.

Emma did not end up needing many winter accessories because her first snow experience only lasted a few minutes. But she was overjoyed about the adventure...she kept smiling and laughing! I think the kids had visions of putting her in the baby sled and taking her down the sledding hill. :)

The snow-bear is now napping peacefully, there is a hearty dinner cooking on the stovetop and wet snow clothes are dripping dry after several uses today. We still have power and the hope of a few more weeks of autumn before the real winter season sets. My heart is content and thankful and filled with some sweet memories of Emma's first snow.

Sooo amazing to see the snow. It was in the high seventies today, so it is just hard for me to think snow! Your family looks so sweet though, bundled up for another day of great memories. I have a few myself that linger after all these years. Enjoy!

How fun! Where do you live? I grew up in MN where there was always an abundance of snow. It was great:)You have a beautiful family and wonderful blog. I am blessed by your heart for the Lord, your husband, and children. Keep up the good work!

Such sweet pictures! I hope you haven't had too much more snow since this post (but that might be wishful thinking...) Glad you all had a wonderful celebration of "Emma's first snow" together. :o)

Dear Abbi !!!! :o)

I am a regular reader of your blog, picked up from "Grace and Honour", have visited your church in the past, and am edified by the things you write.

I have been deeply concerned everything is ok with you. Are you done blogging?

I was encouraged to see your G&H article. I pray all is well with you.

Blessings,

I've been concerned, also, as to your lack of blogs lately. Is everything OK? I miss you!
