out of a job

My Man finds himself out of a job this summer. The lawnmowing job, that is. Our Man-Child has taken over that duty and despite the consternation written on his face in these photos, he really loves his new job!

Joey, you are a blessing to our family. I am surprised often by your enthusiasm and determined spirit. You are a breath of fresh air during the day when Daddy is gone and you are the only man in the house.

The way you tackle jobs is an encouragement to me and an example to the girls. I know where you get your "I can handle it" attitude towards tough jobs. You watch your Daddy approach work with the same spirit, and it makes me smile to see you blossoming into a great man, just like him.

Always remember that your Daddy and Mommy are always right behind you. Watching you, loving you and praying for you, Little Man.

So sweet! How old is Joey? I've been wondering when other people start letting their sons mow the lawn. I'm not sure my 7yo is ready for it yet. He's not big on paying attention to detail, and I'm afraid he'd cut his foot off or something!

Hi Laura! Joey is almost eight. He tried to mow last summer, but he just wasn't quite tall enough. But this year, he can push it GREAT!

I did forget to come back and check...thanks for reminding me! Almost 8. Maybe Joshua will be ready next summer. He'll be 8 in February. Joey looks so grown up!
